How does Thermage® work?

A treatment tip delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy as heat into the deeper layers of skin. The heat gives immediate tightening of collagen and underlying tissue followed by gradual tightening over time by promoting growth of new collagen.

How is Thermage® done?

Thermage® is an office procedure with no incisions, surgery or recovery time.

When will I see results?

Most see results gradually over 6 months; however, some see results immediately.

How many Thermage® skin tightening treatments will I need?

A single Thermage® procedure for most patients.

How long does each Thermage® treatment take?

One to two hours.

Does Thermage® hurt?

There is a brief heating sensation. Pain medication and a cooling spray are used.

How long do Thermage® results last?

Results can last several years depending on factors such as sun exposure, smoking, weight gain and your own natural aging process.

What will I look like right after Thermage®?

Patients return to regular activities immediately. Redness and/or minor swelling may occur but disappear quickly.

Does Thermage® really work?

Results vary from subtle to significant. Thermage® can definitely tighten skin but it will not provide the dramatic results of a surgical facelift or liposuction.

Can I get Thermage® treatment if I have already had or am planning to have other cosmetic procedures?

Thermage® is compatible with most cosmetic procedures. It does not interfere with a surgical face lift performed at a later date.
